This comprehensive course gives you the opportunity to build a broad foundation in six essential areas of employment relations, employment and labor law and alternative dispute resolution.
The first of six sessions focuses on the key factors which shape work and employment relations. The second session examines the law governing relations between employers and workers acting collectively through unions. The third session develops knowledge, skills and abilities of HR professionals in assessing organizational issues and taking action to implement evidence – based solutions to real world problems. The fourth session enables you to understand the internal and external forces and the pressures on employers to be competitive while safeguarding workers from potential occupational hazards, injuries of production and discrimination from immutable characteristics given that the Fijian workplace is more diverse than ever. The fifth session delves into specialty areas of conflict management, application and practice. The course ends with a focus on the process of Mediation as an alternate dispute resolution as practiced by the Fiji Mediation Centre.
